Back in 2012, I was in South Africa training for my first full IRONMAN. My diet was chicken breast and hard-boiled eggs. Every day. I was exhausted, I was bored, and I was craving red meat in a way that felt almost desperate.
One night I gave in and ordered a steak. It was incredible. An hour later I went out and ran the fastest 16 miles of my training cycle.
